Two Houthi leaders shot dead by unknown assailants north of Ibb and Source: liquidations within the group


Two leaders of the Houthi group in The Central Province of Ibb were killed on Thursday under mysterious circumstances.

According to local sources, the group's supervisor in the area of "Al-Daleel" Saad Mahruq was killed along with Houthi leader Hassan al-Shabibi, after unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in the area of al-Makhader directorate in the north of the province.

According to the sources, the perpetrators fled after the incident.

The sources talked about the cause of the incident, which is likely to be the result of internal differences between Houthi leaders in the province, but other sources talked about differences between the two dead and one of the families in the directorate, on the back of revenge and the previous killing of a person from the house of "Al-Daghmari" accuses the leaders of being behind it.

It is worth mentioning that internal differences over the interests between the Houthi leaders in the province reached the point of armed conflict in earlier times, most recently last June, when the city of Ibb witnessed bloody confrontations in which the death and wounding of militia members, most notably Houthi leader Ismail Abdul Qadir Sofian appointed by the Houthis as undersecretary.
